Difference Between Business Proposal and Formal Research Essay Example for Free
Difference Between Business Proposal and Formal Research Essay The final objective of the business proposal and a formal research establishes the differences between the two studies. Business proposal has a practical orientation and is designed to find the best solution to a problem in order to generate either financial savings or greater revenue (Bazerman, M. H., Moore, 2009). On the other hand, a formal research builds upon other comparable research to discover, demonstrate or test a hypothesis. It has no financial implications and generates a wide variety of findings that may be made applicable in a wide variety of contexts. Business proposal defines the problem as a business decision making concern, formal research estimates the problem as a potential contribution to scholarly research. When it comes to data gathering and use, business proposal looks for available data sources to make a decision, formal research produces own data to make a discovery. The approach for business proposal is to analyze different alternatives, for formal research is related to performing an experiment. Business proposal normally doesnââ¬â¢t use theoretical work ; on the other hand, formal research defines the theories that support the variable utilized in the hypothesis. The capability of the formal research consists of contributions to the academic world and the scholarly work while capability of a business proposal is to find solutions to business problems. Despite the many differences between business proposal and research project, there are some commonalities. One of them is that the findings in both cases may or may not be presented with headings and subheadings (Bazerman, M. H., Moore, 2009). Business proposal and formal research should work together. If no formal research is present , the proposal will be useless. To write a business proposal, there is a need to conduct a formal research on the market. The reason it is so important is that the viability of the business can be determined. It wouldnââ¬â¢t be logic to initiate any kind of business if the products or services are not needed by the visualized market. Business decisions require intelligence and how research can provide that intelligence. Business proposals contextualize the findings from formal research in an existing organizational structure.

Parked Cars Can Be Death Traps for Kids :: Safety Death Children Essays
Parked Cars Can Be Death Traps for Kids Imagine sitting in a hospital waiting room anticipating the results of the tests being run on your only child. You were lucky though; at least he is alive. You had no idea that he was in your car. You can not imagine how traumatic it could have been for him to be trapped in his own car. Finally the doctors come to tell you the news. He has brain damage, and he will never fully recover. He may never walk again and he will never live the life of a normal child. These events occurred because you did not make the effort to assure your child was not unattended in your vehicle. ââ¬Å"At least 19 children died during the summer of 1999 because they were trapped in hot cars, according to data being released by a childrenââ¬â¢s safety groupâ⬠( Oââ¬â¢Donnel 1). Some parents run in the post office, pay for gas, buy a pack of cigarettes, or even go shopping while their children sit in a hot vehicle. ââ¬Å"A National Safe Kids Campaign survey shows that 10% of parents believe that children can be unattended in a car. That number increases to 20% for parents 18 to 24 years old. And 50% of parents report that they donââ¬â¢t lock their vehiclesâ⬠( Oââ¬â¢Donnel 5). Children should not be left unattended in a car for any reason. A child left unattended in a car could die. The extreme temperatures cause the child to overheat, which leads to death. The child could have severe brain damage. The heat could not be so extreme it causes death, but brain damage can be just as traumatic. The child could climb into the car if left unlocked. Many parents are not aware that their children are in their vehicles. The results of leaving a child unattended in a car can be fetal. Many parents donââ¬â¢t understand the severity of leaving a child alone in a vehicle. Assuring that your child is never unattended in a vehicle is very important during hot weather when temperatures inside a parked car can soar to deadly levels in minutes. ââ¬Å"John McDonnel put a thermometer, which was set at about 98 ââ¬â degrees, and let it sit in a car in the hot sun for several hours.

My Life Goals
Pete Blankenship Mr. Letz English 101 25 September 2012 My Life Goals Iââ¬â¢m eighteen years old and my birthday is on February 23, 1994. My name is Thomas Earl Blankenship IV, but I go by Pete. I am from Mobile, Alabama and I live on Dog River. I played soccer, basketball, and ran cross country in high school. Soccer is my favorite sport and the team I was on in high school won the state championship twice, and I got named MVP the past two seasons. I have two little brothers Murray(17) and Jack(14). I also have an older sister Katherine(24). Being the oldest boy in the family is challenging sometimes but its a responsibility that I love to have.I attended a military high school called UMS-Wright, and their code of conduct was very strict. My life love is music and my ultimate dream is to become a music producer in Nashville, Tennessee. My goals on a short term scale for this semester are primarily academic, emotional, spiritual, and personal/professional. By the end of this semes ter I will have accumulated a g. p. a. of a 3. 5 or higher. To do this I will have to give up nights with friends and partying, but I believe it will all be worth it. I want to have a fantastic resume academically. My personality and work ethic are what I think will gain me the career choice that i desire.Another goal I will have achieved by the end of the semester is to find a group of people that I can play music with and practice my recording abilities with. I want to do this because music is the love of my life and without it I think I would be depressed. Itââ¬â¢s too soon to tell if life without music effects me emotionally or spiritually because it has only been a few weeks in college, but it has been something that will always cheer me up in bad times and relieves stress when I am feeling overwhelmed. I want to find people to play with to achieve my personal goal of becoming a music producer in Nashville.A goal on a spiritual level is to grow stronger in my faith with Chri st. I have always been a relatively religious person, but I have noticed that when I am not being made by my parents to say my prayers and go to church it is much harder to do so. After coming to the realization that a relationship with Christ is something that I believe I need to be truly happy, I have a set a goal to go to my fraternities bible study every week and to begin going to Campus Crusade. By the end of the year my goals are to finish the year with a minimum 3. 5 G. P. A. to have a house reserved and have selected roommates that I believe will better me as a person, to have achieved at least 80 hours of community service, and to be playing with a band for money. I need to finish with a great G. P. A. because grades are important to me and are a small symbol of your work ethic, so that my resume looks well enough to get the interviews and opportunities that I desire. I want to have 80 service hours to have an outstanding and philanthropic resume. I also want to be a lot mo re frugal with my money and begin playing gigs for money to earn an income and become more responsible.I also want to have accepted and be on the way to an internship in Nashville, Tennessee that I was offered last summer. These final goals I hope to be completed by the time I am 45 years old. I will have a small family in Mobile, Alabama. I will own a recording studio out of Nashville, Tennessee that I can manage from Mobile. I will be able to do this because most music production can be done online and sent through the internet through email. I will also be a millionaire by this point through smart stock investments. I will be known as a man of character and integrity, through honest business transactions and kind actions.I will be a spiritual leader in my family and my community. I will achieve this reputation through a strong group of Christian people to keep me accountable for my actions. My life goals are very important to me now that I am in college. I feel much more obligate d to continue trying my best and staying responsible. Now that there is added pressure to be my best and school is not just school now, itââ¬â¢s training for a career. I will do my best to accomplish my short term goals and continue to gain ground on my ultimate goal of owning a recording studio and achieving happiness through my walk with Christ and providing for my family.

Barbara Walters Biography Television Journalist
Known for: the first woman to (co-)anchor a network evening news show Occupation: journalist, talk show host, and producer Dates: September 25, 1931 - Barbara Walters Biography Barbara Walters father, Lou Walters, had lost his fortune in the Depression, then became the owner of the Latin Quarter, with nightclubs in New York, Boston, and Florida. Barbara Walters attended school in those three states. Her mother was Dena Selett Waters, and she had one sister, Jacqueline, who was developmentally disabled (d. 1988). In 1954, Barbara Walters graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, with a degree in English. She briefly worked at an ad agency, then went to work at an ABC-affiliated New York television station. She moved from there to work with the CBS network and then, in 1961, to NBCs Today show. When Today co-host Frank McGee died in 1974, Barbara Walters was named Hugh Downs new co-host. Also in 1974, Barbara Walters was the host of a short-lived daytime talk show, Not for Women Only. ABC Evening News Co-Anchor Barely two years later, Barbara Walters became national news herself, when ABC signed her to a 5-year, $1 million per year contract, to co-anchor the evening news and to anchor four specials per year. She became, through this job, the first woman to co-anchor an evening news program. Her co-host, Harry Reasoner, made quite publicly clear his unhappiness with this teaming. The arrangement did not improve ABCs poor news show ratings, however, and in 1978, Barbara Walters stepped down, joining the news show 20/20. In 1984, in an ironic replay of history, she became co-host of 20/20 with Hugh Downs. The show expanded to three nights a week, and at one time Barbara Walters and Diane Sawyer co-hosted one of the evenings. Specials She continued the Barbara Walters Specials, which began in 1976 with a show featuring interviews with President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter and with Barbra Streisand. Barbara Walters provoked more truth-telling than the subjects probably expected. Other famous interview subjects of her shows have included, jointly, Anwar Sadat of Egypt and Menachem Begin of Israel in 1977, and Fidel Castro, Princess Diana, Christopher Reeves, Robin Givens, Monica Lewinsky, and Colin Powell. In 1982 and 1983, Barbara Walters won Emmy awards for her interviewing. Among her many other awards, she was inducted into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame in 1990. In 1997, Barbara Walters created with Bill Geddie a daytime talk show, The View. She co-produced the show with Geddie and co-hosted it with four other women of diverse ages and views. In 2004, Barbara Walters stepped down from her regular spot on 20/20.à She published her autobiography, Audition: A Memoir, in 2008.à She had open heart surgery in 2010 to repair a heart valve. Walters retired fromà The Viewà as a co-host in 2014, thoughà occasionallyà returned as a guest co-host. Personal Life Barbara Walters was married three times: Robert Henry Katz (1955-58), Lee Guber (1963-1976), and Merv Adelson (1986-1992). She and Lee Guber adopted a daughter in 1968, named Jacqueline Dena after Walters sister and mother. She also dated or was linked romantically to Alan Greenspan (U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman) and Senator John Warner. In her 2008 autobiography, she recounted a 1970s affair with married US Senator Edward Brooke, and that they had ended the affair to avoid scandal. Shes been criticized for friendships with Roger Ailes, Henry Kissinger, and Roy Cohn.
